The annual Tremont Turkey Festival has been a significant part of the community since it was first held in the 1960s and has grown to become a highlight for both residents and visitors from the surrounding areas.

True to it’s name, the Turkey Festival features turkey sandwiches, smoked turkey legs, hot wings and more, along with a full carnival, crafts & vendors, and much more.

Tremont Community Unit School District carries on an award-winning tradition of educational excellence.

  • Recipient of the Bright Star A+ Award, recognizing academic excellence that ranks Tremont District #702 in the top 5% of Illinois school districts

  • Ranked in the top 50 of school districts statewide in a recent study by SchoolDigger and had the lowest cost per student of any K-12 unit district listed in the top 50.

  • Composite ACT score average over the last five years for all juniors is 22.4, nearly two points above the state average.

  • Charter member of the Heart of Illinois Conference, which formed in 2006. Tremont High School has claimed the annual HOIC All-Sports Trophy five times during the conference’s eight-year history.
